Hi everyone, it’s a bit tricky question but will have a try.

How to turn off/disable  “turning on” the console with Home button on the controller?
I would like to connect controller to my laptop and not be able to switch console on every time while connecting to it.

I've never seen an option to turn the console on and off with the pad, and I haven't found an answer on the internet either

The only thing you can do if you want to use the pad is to unplug the console each time

And if you have two pads, it is enough that one is not paired with the console

@Niesberkツ you right, you can’t disable the “home” Xbox controller button. But you are wrong saying that you can’t power the console on with this button. If your controller is linked to an Xbox One console push and hold the Xbox button on the controller, both the console and the controller will power on.

@Roddix as @Niesberkツ mentioned, use second controller or unplug the console.

You said that here. I think I know what you meant, You never saw an option to disable/enable the Home button for use to power an console? Sorry simple misunderstanding though.

@Charlie2001 I meant that there is no such option in the settings, but I understand the misunderstanding

I myself would probably write like you did😆

@Roddix last night I took a time to check properly if it’s possible to change any “power on” setups on Xbox controller (I used elite2) and I couldn’t find anything to change/personalised  “home” button. I tried as well to press button without holding and console was firing up straight away-so no, it’s not possible to disable this particular button.
