Sorry @groob12  but its almost impossible as  batteries in Elite 2 are fully integrated design. The only way to get the large 2050 milliamp hour battery out of the controller is to rip it apart. Of course it’s possible to do it but you need a battery pack that, I’m guessing will be second hand as well.

On the plus side, the battery is almost twice as big as the currently available play and charge kit. It’s rated by Microsoft for “Up to 40 hours.”
I know about your issue and I can’t believe it’s getting only 1-2 hrs…Another option is to use cable while playing.

Good luck

I’m afraid it will take more than basic skills to do it. You need to completely open controller and then remove battery pack. Even if you will be able to do it without damaging the case you will still need a new battery. You can get one from EBay, but remember that will be used as well…so you may end up with this same issue on the end of the day.
My advice, use as it is and when loosing juice go for cable.

@groob12 probably you could send it to some techguys but personally I would save for new one instead of throwing money in toi something that will never works correctly.

Hi, so I have done a bit of searching and its a way to do it.

You need to take off the two rear hand grips, and unscrew the four screws which are torx T9 screwdriver, Pull of the front casing  and then take the internals out of the rear casing.

Disconnect  the battery carefully from the port on the mother board, then you plug in your new battery put your internals back in the rear cover. Put everything back together and screw it back. Don't forget about grips. It's should take you 20 min easily to replace batterie. I even found a place where where you can order brand new batterie(from China) with really cheap delivery to UK.

Good luck
