Hello Xbox friends, I'm about to buy a used Xbox controller but are these original Xbox Series Controllers to use on a PC (mostly to finish Shenmue 1, 2 & 3,  the father of open world games and open world genre- leveling up Ryo's martial arts skills RPG before moving on to the next popular open world games like Arkham trilogy and GTA 5 at least the extra missions in GTA and then others).

Or buying just a Xbox 360 wireless controller (I believe it's uses Bluetooth like the Series and One controllers?) will suffice, so I can save money?

Thank you in advance.

Not a massive fan of using xbox controllers. I will avoid them as you can end up  spending more for repairs of triggers etc.

As for a "fake",I never found a fake one, you can of course buy third party xbox like controller or xbox controllers from special series, this is why colours and grips can have different texture or colour.

What's your budget? If you really cant afford new one I will go for 360 controller, why not.

Hi, thanks for the reply, a controller not Microsoft you mean, not for the Xbox? Do you recommend Sony's wireless (which of their controllers) for the PC (specifically for Shenmue 1, 2, 3 at first, later the other games)? The seller's Red Pulse Series controller the one on top was hardly used, it's in a 'Like New' condition.

I heard the Xbox 360 controller won't work on the PC if the seller doesn't have the Xbox Wireless Connector for the PC (most sellers don't have that I guess) coz' the 360 doesn't have Bluetooth?

Yes, they look original from I can see.
Now, as you mentioned you want to go and use controller with PC.  Then go for series X controller, even second hand should be much better than Xbox one controller as you can imagine they are much older and with series X technology is far better. And yes series x is compatible with Bluetooth 4.0

Xbox 360 controller not supporting Bluetooth so you will not be able to connect to PC( you need special adapter)

Personally, I will not go for used controllers as they always got something wrong with them…

You can connect Xbox one or series X controller to any PC

Fake not, but you may have a non Microsoft controllers.
I will go for any controller that is described at least like “ like new” “still with warranty” “ excellent condition-100% working”

There is still a risk of sticky trigger / buttons and drifting analog sticks.
360 do not have Bluetooth!!

Thanks for the insights. It's good the Red Plus on top and regular black one are not fake.

What non-Microsoft controller would be amazing for the PC do you recommend?

Thanks again.

@Alvin777 My top 3 will be

1. Xbox series X Controller.

Microsoft’s controller is comfortable to hold, and it benefits from built-in Windows support—simply plug it in, and it works with just about any game that supports a controller. But it requires AA batteries or an add-on rechargeable battery pack if you want to play wirelessly.

2. This is budget controller- Non Microsoft.

8BitDo Ultimate C2.4G

This wireless controller has all of the buttons you need, long battery life, and effortless pairing with PCs through a USB-A dongle. It’s also more comfortable for small hands than the official Xbox controller.

3. This one it’s like Elite2 but cheaper- still great controller!

8BitDo Ultimate 2.4G

The wireless Ultimate 2.4G is almost identical to our budget pick but has customizable controls and extra rear paddles, and it comes with a charging dock in the box.

Thanks so much, I guess more research and will check out those controllers for Shenmue 1, 2, 3 (father of all open world games) and others after finishing those.

I've heard of 8BitDo, different from a company called 8-Bit Mods I think. Thanks again, checking things out...

I own elite 2 controllers but before that I was using 8BitDo  and I must say it was a great controller!

Really worth consideration.

Good luck and just a quick question, never played Shenmue- could you add maybe more info in game section ?
thx 🙏

Hi sure, I'll find the Game Section... maybe I'll include this in the Game Section:

Shenmue open world (it's an RPG open world like Fallout 3, 4, you level up the martial arts skill and it's still the deepest fighting mechanics in any game) the father of all open world games as we know, if game designer Yu Suzuki with SEGA hadn't invented (and spent- it was very expensive at that time, the highest) the first open world Shenmue 1 & 2 (not there's 3 and they are looking to fun Shenmue 3 to 6 to finish the story), there'd be no Grand Theft Auto 3, Fallout 3, 4, Witcher 3, Red Dead, Cyberpunk 2077, no open word games in the future like GTA 6.  SEGA took the risk when it was the only genre like that but Shenmue if it's just feelings based (esp. Shenmue 1 with a cat there is a favorite, the fans have made a new fan made playable off shoot even if one check Twitter/X Shenmue forever, Shenmue Dojo accounts and Adam Koralik too) is still the one that does not feel a grind, you just want to take your time and explore and talk- very nice charm (it's spiritual successor with a lot of action if Yakuza series and Xbox 1 was the spiritual successor of the Dreamcast- it has the same button lettering and offset layout on the stick). It's still the best open world, the father open world games when it comes to feeling good about a game, different from the action packed of it's predecessors like Arkham Knight wherein it just feels like a grind at some point you just want to finish a mission and the game coz' you have to play another asap coz' there are so many AAA games nowadays with game engines being easier to use.
